One of my friends found it weird that I have a VM of Windows 7 even though I run Windows 7 as my host OS. I use it when I see a piece of software I want to try but don't want to install it on my main machine if I'm just going to uninstall it, keeps my main Windows installation cleaner. Then I have an XP VM to run older software in, especially 16 bit stuff that won't run on 64 bit. Then I have other VMs just for nostalgia or messing around.
