The hidden features in Windows 8 are:
1) Transparency
Microsoft removed the transparency in Windows Shell. It was there in Vista and 7 but Microsoft hid that feature and removed the code for that. There are some programs available to enable this.
2) Hibernation
Microsoft hid that feature in Windows 8. Now the power menu shows "Sleep, Shut Down and Restart". There is a way. In RUN dialog box, type "powercfg.cpl" and press Enter. Now click on "Choose what the power buttons do" link given in left sidebar. Then click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable" link given at the top and scroll down to bottom. "Hibernate" option is unchecked. Enable the option and apply the changes.
3) "Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Offline" installation
The installation for this would fail in Windows 8, if run from Programs & Features. There is a way to install this.
4) "Aero Lite" theme hidden in RTM
This theme is hidden so as to improve the performance of the system as well as supporting low-end computers.
