Well, it is fast for someone living in Australia. Here my top speed is 150 kilobytes per second. You are going almost twice that speed, so its fast compared to me. Considering that I can stream videos without a problem, my speed is fairly fast, since its not like dialup.

But your post truly did not make sense. You say Netflix completely stops you from accessing the internet, even though your speed is over 2Mb/second. Then you say that Wifi could be limiting you. If your speed is slow, then obviously it cannot be limited by Wifi, but if your internet is is faster than Wifi, then how can Netflix be a problem? Pretty sure if Wifi is your limiting factor you could stream at least 3 netflix videos at the same time and still browse the web without being affected.

Hi, I suggest that you get a bit faster internet

Depends on where he lives, and his budget (which probably isn't much if he's living with a room-mate... The top speed I can get in my area is 150 kilobytes per second... He's got over 100 kilobytes per second faster internet.

n some routers (like others suggested) you could set up Qos so about 30/70 bandwith or you could block the internet for the PS3 altogether but this might be a bit too much! You could sign up for OpenDNS (it's free) and it can block Netflix streaming, all you have to do is set the dns servers in the PS3 and you can block it.

Or just use some parental control system commonly found on routers.

Really though, he needs to discuss this with the other party before he goes messing around their internet.

I do agree with you. After all she does pay 50% of the bill so she is paying for what she is using.
