Re: Any post-RTM builds of Windows 8?

No offence, but I don't just determine whether something is most likely real or fake based on person alone, but also on merit (in other words, what sounds more likely, based on the types of decisions that Microsoft would normally make).

For example, many people agree that Microsoft first started Windows 8's development by compiling post-RTM builds of Windows 7, where they most likely made several kernel changes (among which ARM support), and only later was it even given the product name Windows 8. Likewise, I would not be at all surprised if Microsoft is compiling post-RTM builds of Windows 8, and as hounsell even pointed out, even Windows 7 was also like that at one point, with Microsoft starting out with earlier builds that were still "not quite Windows 7, but past Vista" as he said it, and then moving on to compile full-scale Windows 7 builds.

So, on this basis, I would say that although we can't possibly know for sure, the build range is most likely real (Sir007 said that it is for Windows "Blue", but if what he says is true, then it almost certainly also exists for Windows 9, although we still don't know for sure), but that we won't know for sure until we start seeing even leaks of screenshots (let alone builds themselves).

Either way, though, we're still miles away from having a 7850-level build, let alone anything even remotely resembling a "Developer Preview" release.

--------

Also, I do NOT simply "believe everything written" as some people have been led to believe. For example, I have found the following rumors and speculations regarding the development of Windows Blue (Platform Update?) and also Windows 9's development, all of which I find to be completely false:

Windows Blue:
Decimal increases in version numbers (8.1)
No more major versions of Windows, yearly updates instead, idea copied from Apple

Windows 9:
64-bit only
Support for 128-bit processors (since when has anyone seen any of them anyway)
Will bring back the old Start button
etc...

However, on the other hand, there is leaked information (some of which made it to The Microsoft Kitchen, by the way) that Microsoft is in the exceptionally earliest stages of Windows 9's development. Most likely, it is little more than a post-RTM branch of Windows 8, and as I said, it's highly doubtful that there are any functional changes in Windows 9 at the moment, apart from changes to the kernel and possible reorganization of SKUs.
