Well, here I am, proving that it is indeed quite "possible" to access BetaArchive from an old web browser. By "old", I mean pre-2000s.
Old in this case refers to myself posting from my old 486 system's restored hard disk image (still quite a work in progress in itself), running Windows 95 (original version!) and Internet Explorer 3.0. That's how old it is. And here are my results:
1. When I tried logging in, although the sitemap mostly worked, a lot of stuff didn't display properly, such as frames, etc... Also to note would be the fact that the text sizes were completely off in most cases, meaning that virtually all posts were illegible unless the text was copied and pasted into Notepad or WordPad.
2. It was certainly a lot slower than usual, I mean, I've not seen BetaArchive this slow in ages.
3. Smilies/gestures appear to work, although in the box shown while posting, there was overlapping between the individual smilies.
4. A lot of buttons were shown as normal Windows 95 dialog buttons.
I'll upload a screenshot if anyone is interested, but I still have yet to fully confirm the status of compatibility for the Image Uploader.
