That is pretty interesting that Microsoft will allow you to downgrade Windows. Maybe Microsoft has realized Windows 8.1 sucks. Anything other than version number of files are different from a normal Windows 8?
Well, if you looked at my original post, you will know that apps are glitchy/don't work, etc.What's obviously going on is that it's a bug in Windows 8.1 (as well as Windows Setup). Otherwise, why would Microsoft "officially" allow it?

That being said, I wouldn't even be surprised if you could "downgrade" to Windows Vista over a Windows 7 installation, or to Windows 2000 over a Windows XP or Server 2003 installation, but does that mean that they "officially" support? No, it doesn't, actually, not at all. Nor is it recommended either, since in doing so, you could damage the operating system.

You're free to experiment with this all you like, and I have no problem with that, but I still don't think that it's a good idea to attempt anything like this with your main Windows installation.
