It would be better to use VirtualPC for installing older betas (Whistler and earlier), About fixing the NTKERN error, Look into the guide in this link, The setup engine used in this build is similar to the one used in Windows 98 RTM, So if you're used to installing Windows 98-XP, Then installing this build is easy enoughTo fix the NTKERN error that occurs on newer systems is not possible without replacing one of the main reasons for this build's existence.
Doing so would replace the version of the "Win32 Driver Model" (or WDM) layer with an RTM version, even when one of the main points for why this build was compiled and shipped to testers in the first place was about the version of WDM that was being tested at that time.
So basically, applying the patch simply results in a "Frankenstein" build. That is, taking certain portions of an RTM build's kernel (or at least from a much later beta build) to run an early build. Not truly authentic, if you ask me, and really not worth it.
Long story short: You need an older system to run this build the way it was intended to be run (without replacing significant portions of it). Either that, or a compatible emulator (if there is one - I believe that TheCollector1988 mentioned one many months ago). Otherwise, if you want to preserve its originality, then you simply can't run this build without mixing in huge portions of other builds.
