Buy Office 2010 or 2013. They work fine.
Tip: Until you find a solution, you can use Office Web Apps to view and edit your Office files.
I had a 2010 Starter installed bundled with Win7 (that's a notebook btw), but when I installed win8, it just wouldn't run because of activation issues, so I deleted it.
Thanks, but it would be a problem to ask my parents to do so.
By the way, I've restored the system with leaving the files and only deleting all desktop programs.
