As the title says, i have a page on my site that is password protected using the .htaccess file. Today i was seeing if one of my mates could guess my pw, kudos to him, he did (wasn't that hard to guess tbh.). no biggie, i'll just change it. so i did, but the server is still accepting the old password, the new one works aswell but is kinda pointless if the old one still works.
I tried restarting the web service, nothing. Rebooted the server, nothing. removed and recreated .htaccess and .htpasswd files, nothing. removed the user from the .htpasswd and i can still log in with it.
Even stranger is i changed one of my mates pw the other day, tried his account and i can only log in with the new pw.
So anyone got any ideas?
(btw my server is a Apple Xserve G4 running osx server 10.5.8, wit Apache version 2.2)
EDIT: Moved it to a entire new site definition, still nothing
