1. Some PCs DO have touch screens. Did you think of the all-in-ones?
2. I do agree with the managing applications part. Finding desktop applications in Windows 8 is a complete nightmare.
3. Can't understand what you mean by Microsoft Market doing DirectX funny stuff though.
1. Some.... maybe 1% ? or less ? we talk about desktop PC ,not tablets. I think that tablets need separate OS. I cant imagine that someone use fingers all day to touch on PC TFT
2. Also agree ,so I dont see reason for Metro and removed start menu
3. Well before 2-3 years Microsoft limited Direct X 10 for Vista and Direct X 11 for Windows 7 (later release Direct X 11 for Vista) . Why? Bcs Microsoft do everything to people stop with XP and come to Windows 7. Windows 7 is awesome OS ,but a lot of people been satisfied with XP. For example We cant play new games on XP. Why ? Bcs Battlefield 3 for example use Direct X 11. Microsoft never release them for XP
I want to say (with my poor eng) ,that a lot of people will continue to use Windows 7, bcs hate Metro and Windows 8 style. But Microsoft will release one day Directx 12 ... 13 ... for Windows 8 and 9 ,so people again without real reason will must to move to new OS which they hate.
People who now dont like Metro and Windows 8 maybe will come to this OS, only bcs Microsoft will limit Windows 7 with Direct X ,MSN , new Media Players etc....
