If you want to use a « modern » OS, like Mountain Lion, and dot not have a slideshow with effect, a MacBook « unibody » aluminium or polycarbonate is a good choice.
The old with MacBook with GMA 950 or GMA X3100 are slow with effect, can't use Mountain Lion (Snow Leopard with Core Duo, Lion with Core 2 Duo) and the maximum amount of RAM is limited. The model with GMA 950 accept only 3 GB and the model with GMA X3100 can receive 6 GB of RAM (officially 4 GB)
