I tend to use VMs simply because I like the challenge of installing a really old piece of software and getting it to work. It's hard sometimes, but it can be really rewarding. Plus there's also the historical value, being able to see what computers were like before I was born. Never for nostalgia, simply because I couldn't have had that first experience.
Also, should this be in a different subforum? I don't think it makes much sense being in the Microsoft Operating Systems subforum, but I guess there aren't many other possible places...
